The Two Georges: Parallel Lives in an Age of Revolution
Library of Congress

King George III as popularly imagined leans toward caricature. George Washington in contrast has been rotely portrayed as taciturn and modest. This 3700 sq ft exhibition reveals the complexity of their true relationship through George Washington’s papers from the Library of Congress, George III’s scientific instruments from the Science Museum Group in London, and his papers from the Royal Collection and Royal Archives. Designed for clarity, dynamic contrast, and with wit, this exhibition made use of existing casework with newly-designed temporary walls and lightboxes. TGO handled all graphic and exhibition design elements for the exhibition, including object layout, display graphics, casework, and print and advertising design.
